Calciomercato.com - Juventus have Morata's yes: he is the alternative to Lukaku

Alvaro Morata is back on Juventus radar, who got his approval in case of farewell to Atletico Madrid. But the priority remains the Belgian.

Point one: Juventus have an agreement with Romelu Lukaku . Point two: finding the total squaring of the circle is not very simple, as there are also Chelsea and Dusan Vlahovic, the other players in the operation. And so, an old acquaintance is back in fashion for the Bianconeri: Alvaro Morata .

According to 'Calciomercato.com', Juventus would have obtained the yes of the Spanish striker , for whom it would be the third experience in Turin: Morata has already worn the black and white shirt from 2014 to 2016 and then from 2020 to 2022.

Morata currently plays for Atletico Madrid. And he has regularly appeared in pre-season friendlies, including the one won against Manchester City a few days ago.

WHY JUVENTUS THINKS ABOUT MORATA

The combination between Alvaro Morata and Juventus is not new: for weeks it has been rumored that even the bianconeri are in the race to bring the great ex back home, who returned to Atletico Madrid in 2022 after two years spent in Turin.

The fact is that Juventus are considering Morata as an alternative to Lukaku , the primary target of the management and Massimiliano Allegri. If the hunt for the Belgian centre-forward, and the consequent exchange with Vlahovic, does not go well, the Spaniard's go-ahead could lead to a real negotiation between the Bianconeri and the Colchoneros.

HOW MORATA COSTS

The release clause in Morata's contract is 21 million euros , a figure that no club - despite his payment effectively putting Atletico Madrid out of the game - has yet agreed to pay into the Spanish coffers.

According to Morata's agents, in reality, the clause would be 10 million euros . A version that, however, has never been confirmed.

NO FOR INTER? NO FOR ROME?

Inter and Roma have also thought of Morata , but the interest of both seems to have cooled off in the last few days: the Giallorossi have had to deal with the costs of booking and salary that are difficult to bear for a club that will not play in the Champions League, while the nerazzurri have concretely turned their attention to Gianluca Scamacca.

At this moment, therefore, Morata is to all intents and purposes a player of Atletico Madrid. In recent days, Diego Simeone said of his striker: "It depends on the club and on him. He's a very important player for us, we hope he stays here."

MORATA'S NUMBERS WITH JUVENTUS

There are 185, divided as already mentioned into two distinct sections, the presences of Morata with the Juventus shirt. In Turin, the Spanish national striker scored 59 goals. Instead, there are 135 appearances in Serie A, with 35 goals scored.
