Capital gains case, UEFA excludes Juve from Europa: no Conference League

Instead of the Bianconeri, also fined 20 million, the Fiorentina finalist of the last edition was fished out.

UEFA has decided to exclude Juventus for a season from the European cups for the capital gains case, so the Bianconeri will not be at the start of the Conference League 2023-2024. A fine of 20 million euros was also imposed, of which 10 with the conditional. In its place, Fiorentina, a finalist of the last edition, is fished out.

In Turin for weeks they had been ready to give up the next Europe, a decision accepted with serenity since from an economic point of view it is not a serious loss. From a sporting point of view, therefore, the word is put an end to the story of capital gains and salaries, which has so conditioned the last season of Juventus. Allegri's team will thus focus on the championship and the Coppa Italia, trying to break a two-year streak without trophies.

THE UEFA PRESS RELEASE

During the 2022/23 season, the CFCB First Chamber, chaired by Sunil Gulati, opened investigations into Juventus (ITA) and Chelsea FC (ING) for potential violations of UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations. The First Chamber of the CFCB concluded that Juventus (ITA) violated UEFA's regulatory framework and violated the settlement agreement signed in August 2022. As a result, the First Chamber of the CFCB resolved the settlement agreement concluded with the club and decided to:• exclude Juventus from the 2023/24 UEFA men's club competition;• impose an additional financial contribution of 20 million euros on the club. Of this amount, €10 million is conditional and will only be applied if the club's annual financial statements for financial years 2023, 2024 and 2025 do not comply with the accounting requirements set out in Annex G of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Sustainability Regulations.
