Koopmeiners to Atalanta: agreements must be respected. Only Juve until the end

The Dutchman continues his tug of war with his current club: that promise made last season and the decision now taken

It's true that he doesn't lack the 'physique du rôle'. But Teun Koopmeiners is truly living and playing the role of the tough guy, with an iron character, ready not to back down even a meter when he goes into battle. The novelty is that this time he has particular opponents in battle: not midfielders or defenders, but Atalanta itself. Since the beginning of the second week of August, therefore before the Super Cup match against Real Madrid , the Dutchman has decided to break away from the Orobic club because he no longer has any intention of staying in Bergamo. Koop wants the Goddess to follow through on the commitment made last summer when the player decided to extend his contract with the Nerazzurri in exchange for the promise of being sold a year later, or in this session, if a suitable request is received for him from a top club. A situation that materialized with Juventus, more determined than ever to give Thiago Motta the all-rounder considered by technical director Giuntoli and the Italian-Brazilian coach to be ideal for enhancing the new Juventus game.

Koopmeiners doesn't give an inch

The tug of war that has arisen between Koop and Atalanta sees the player determined to continue on his path without backtracking. Yesterday, for example, Lookman returned to training with the group , having opted out before the trip to Lecce because he was tempted by advances from intermediaries who had offered him the possibility of moving to Ligue 1 to wear the jersey of the most prestigious club, namely Paris Saint Germain . It's a shame that the offer that seemed to be around the corner never arrived. Hence the decision of the English striker to backtrack even if the last week could bring further surprises if Arsenal were to give effect to the rumours that recently have him on the trail of the Nerazzurri. But if Lookman has changed his attitude, Koopmeiners is not giving an inch and therefore continues his health insurance in light of the new medical certificate presented to justify his absence. Stress is something that cannot be detected by instrumental tests, so even the healing time cannot be predicted. A “heavy” risk in the economy of the negotiation that sees Atalanta, Koopmeiners and Juventus at the top of the issue.

The situation of Koopmeiners

The feeling is that in the end Koopmeiners will wear the Juventus jersey for the simple reason that this type of final would give satisfaction to everyone and everyone would lose less. After all, the Turin club is willing to pay without discount the price of Mister Koop , valued from the beginning by the Bergamo team at 60 million euros. For Teun, Juventus has said it is willing to significantly approach the indicated price with the formula that provides a fixed fee of just over 50 million and bonuses for 6-7 million.

Money that would obviously be useful to Atalanta given the Orobic club's activism on the revenue front, the last prized piece in order of arrival is the Granata full-back Bellanova , who cost 25 million including bonuses . Juventus is therefore waiting for Atalanta to complete its operations, confident in the fact that in the end the Goddess will decide to accept the offer for the Dutchman. At this point it seems obvious that the negotiation will be able to provide the white smoke not in time for Juventus' next match, that is on Monday in Verona against the Gialloblù. The signatures will therefore not be long before the market gong which, let's remember, is scheduled for midnight on Friday. In the meantime, every time Thiago Motta has been asked a question about the market, the coach has conveyed great optimism about the work that the Bianconeri club is doing and will do. In short, Motta believes in it and is convinced that in the end the numbers will add up between who Juve wants to take and who Juve has managed to sign.
