  • Juventus are unbeaten in 14 of their 21 matches against Portuguese opponents in European competitions (W11, D3) ; the last victory against a Lusitanian team dates back to the second leg of the round of 16 of the 2020/21 Champions League, against Porto.

  • Considering only the UEFA Cup/Europa League, Juventus are unbeaten in four of their six ties against Portuguese opponents (W3, D1), keeping half the clean sheets, including the most recent (0-0 vs Benfica, 1 May 2014 ).

  • Sporting have failed to win any of their 15 away games (D4 L11) against Italian sides in European competition; only against Spanish opponents, the Portuguese team has played more away games (17), without ever finding success in Europe.

  • Juventus have won all of their last three matches in Europe without conceding a goal ; the last time the bianconeri recorded four consecutive wins, keeping clean sheets, in European competitions dates back to the 2016/17 Champions League, when they reached the Final.

  • Sporting have lost just one of their last six away games (W2 D3) in Europe , keeping three clean sheets in this period. The Portuguese are unbeaten in three away games and have not gone four straight without defeat away from home in European competition since February 2019.

  • Since Juventus had access to this edition of the Europa League (play-offs), the bianconeri have attempted 32 shots on target , at least five more than any other team and almost double that of Sporting in the period (17).

  • Ángel Di María has scored four goals in European competition this season for Juventus – his best tally in a single season in major European competition, tied for 2016-17 (four).

  • Pedro Gonçalves is Sporting's top scorer in this Europa League (three goals scored in his last three appearances), as well as being the Lusitanian club's player who has taken part in the most shots: 23, the result of 15 total shots and eight chances created for comrades.
