The former Bianconeri center forward, now a Dazn commentator, takes stock of the Old Lady's good start to the season, also looking to the future
Good morning Matri, what impression did you have of the grown-ups in these first three days?
"I see a favorite that is Inter. Napoli leaves me with some doubts: it's strong, but I think it can weigh Kim's departure a lot. Milan has been very strengthened and it is still a surprise because with so many new players it has had a good impact right away. Then I put Juve, Atalanta and Lazio for fourth place."
A grid that Juve can trace or is it a prohibitive feat?
"Juve has to arrive in February attached to the leading wagon and at that point, between the knockout phase of the cups and the fatigue, anything can happen. Having a squad that only bets on the championship at that point can become the extra weapon. Juve must not lose points first."
So far of the Bianconeri team, with which you have won three Scudetti, an Italian Cup and two Italian Super Cups between 2011 and 2015, what did you like?
"The attitude: in some games we saw a lot more courage. I was also to see a workout and I found a nice climate, despite the fact that last complicated year could leave dross, as well as not making cups could generate a bit of disappointment. Instead I found a very serene environment. But I still see it a little behind. It's true that it doesn't have cups and on a physical level it can be an advantage, but for footballers used to playing every three days the long week can get heavier."
Allegri, his coach at Cagliari and then at Juve, how did he find him?
"The best quality of the coach is serenity. He has always shown it, the most difficult moments exalt him. I found it good, after a really complicated year that even he had suffered. But I saw him recharged and in my opinion it was a nice move by Juve to bet on him again."
