Milik, what does the future at Juve depend on? Idea Giuntoli and Motta's solution

Operated on in June, Arek struggled to recover: now he aims at the challenge with Napoli but the company...

Passed from the sure starting to that of vice Vlahovic, the fate of ArekMilikcould eventually also prove to be a middle ground: reserving the Pole a few more months in Bianconeri as an alternative to DV9 and then a farewell in the January market. Before thinking about the future, the thirty-year-old Polish striker only has the present in his head: because that's what that will depend on. A present that in theory should have seen Milik already at Thiago Motta's disposal in these first three days, recovered after the almenisco surgery of June 10, and that instead will only see him as a spectator also for the matches against Empoli and Psv.

There is September 21, the day of the match with Napoli at the Stadium, circled on the center forward's roadmap. From that day he hopes to start earning also for the second part of the season what the market dynamics, and the past merits, gave him in the first: the permanence in the Bianconeri. It is no mystery that Milik was on the list of outgoing players at the beginning of the summer: last season had been disappointing and he had to be one of the people involved in the profound revolution wanted by Thiago Motta and Cristiano Giuntoli. The injury with Poland and the operation, however, had taken him out of the Euro 2024 showcase and kept possible buyers away.

Milik has to convince Motta

At the same time, despite being as mentioned one of the outgoing players, his substitution with another striker has never been a priority for Juve, committed to overturning the standard formation, looking for more valid alternatives in uncovered roles (the attacking outsiders) and completing complicated transfers of players outside the project. A project in which Milik was definitely on the margins, on the way out as said, but not excluded a priori. Thus, with much more important operations - for the accounts and for the field - to be closed both incoming and outgoing, the one of changing deputy Vlahovic was shelved, since a deputy Vlahovic was there and, net of a low-toned year, he was still a level player.

At that level, however, Milik must now return. Recovering from injury in the first all, convincing Motta both in training and in the game in secundis. Otherwise, that operation shelved in recent weeks could only turn out to be postponed to the January market, when Juve will probably not have immediate needs. And when Motta, after experimenting with internal solutions - from Nico Gonzalez to Yildiz to Weah - he may also have discovered that he doesn't need to replace Milik with another center forward.
