Serie A TV rights, the Lega channel and the free-to-air advance: the news

Private negotiations with Sky, Dazn and Mediaset will resume on Friday, after the thirty-day extension in last Monday's meeting

MILAN - Luigi De Siervo launches a message on the sale of TV rights after 2024 during the launch of the calendar: " The Lega channel is the final goal we could reach in the times that will be marked out in the coming weeks ", underlines the CEO of the Serie A, to make it clear that the alternative to the offers made by Dazn, Sky and Mediaset, considered too low by the clubs, is very concrete .

Tomorrow the Lega's private negotiations with the three broadcasters will resume, which were extended by thirty days at last Monday's meeting. The goal is to be able to add offers that individually do not appear far from the target set at around 930-950 million, but which do not yet fit into the combination of packages.

Serie A and TV rights: amendments to the announcement are being studied

Other modifications of the announcement are being studied to arrive at this solution . In particular, the exclusivity of free-to-air live coverage could be removed to encourage a relaunch of pay TV: Mediaset would continue to have the Saturday night match, but shared with Sky and Dazn, which could include it in their paid subscriptions. And Sky could increase the current figure in the event that it obtains the right of first choice on some days , in order to be sure of broadcasting the match of one of the teams with the most fans: Juventus, Inter or Milan, playing against small and medium-sized teams . Now, however, this faculty is always for the benefit of Dazn. On the other hand, it is difficult to go beyond the four 'picks' granted to Sky out of the 20 very successful ones.
