The new life of Mason: "The tumor changed me, Juventus a second family"

The midfielder had made his debut in Serie A with the Bianconeri in 2020. Then the disease and two years of stop: now he is ready to return to the field.

From dream to nightmare. Simone Muratore's life over the last two years has been full of difficulties, starting just when he seemed ready to take flight into the world in the world of football.

After the debut in the youth sector of Juventus, Maurizio Sarri chooses to launch him in 2019: he made his debut in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen on December 19, then also debut in Serie A in the season finale against Lecce, closing with four total appearances, including two as a starter.

The following year the Juventus club sold him to Atalanta which in turn sent him on loan to Reggiana first and to Tondela, in Portugal, then.

His career is complicated during the experience with the Lusitans, when he is diagnosed with a benign brain tumor.

THE TALE OF MASONRY

In an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport, Muratore, who was left free, told what happened to him. "They've been tough for two years.

Today the determination is a lot and so I hope to return soon at full capacity."

The Juventus footballing parenthesis closed, but the Bianconeri still offered him the Vinovo Sports Center to train: "For me Juve is a second home, a second family. They always made me feel important, and even in my bad time I felt their strong closeness."

On health issues "I thought it was a temporary stop, I was pretty quiet. Then the operation got complicated: it was supposed to last 6-7 hours, we got to 10-11. When I woke up from a coma I was thinking of quitting football, but now I want to get back on the field: it's a stage that I see close."
